An Taisce in conjunction with the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government have constructed an Irish Beach Awards website. The site holds information on each Green Coast Award and Blue Flag Beach in Ireland and can be accessed by clicking on the screen shot below:
Get Information on Water Quality in My Area?
The Environmetal Protection Agency operates a website called BathingWater.ie which publishes all water quality at each of the ‘designated’ bathing areas in Ireland. If your local bathing beach is not listed, it has not been designated as a bathing area and therefore is not sampled. You can lobby your Local Authority in this regard and get the area designated as a local bathing spot.
